Our charming restaurant with rooms in North Yorkshire features 15 bedrooms

There are fifteen English country-styled rooms at The Blue Lion, all a testament to the original character of this Yorkshire Inn

Relax and unwind at The Blue Lion, East Witton. The North Yorkshire-based restaurant with rooms has 15 beautiful bedrooms, all of which are individually decorated to provide a unique feel to each room.

The rooms are split between the main house and the converted courtyard stables, which once housed the horses for travelling traders through Wensleydale.

Our newly refurbished courtyard rooms offer the ultimate luxury and comfort. Some of the rooms feature exposed beams and all have either an en-suite bathroom or shower room, together with in-room tea and coffee facilities. All are decorated with comfortable country furnishings for a “get away from it all” relaxing stay.

We have a limited number of dog-friendly rooms available for well-behaved dogs. To book one of our dog-friendly rooms, please call us to chat through the options.

If you intend to dine during your stay, please reserve a table whilst making your initial booking as space in the restaurant is limited.

Large Classic Rooms

These beautiful bedrooms are full of character, with an eclectic mix of country furniture and artefacts from a bygone era, and provide a quintessential English Inn stay. These charming rooms are larger than our doubles and are most popular with all guests. Some have wonderful views across the village to the stunning Dales and beyond.

Large Courtyard Superior – Room 15

Our beautiful large courtyard superior has undergone recent refurbishments. It’s probably our most booked room, with its stylish Super King-size bed and private garden, wooden floor, large wet room and admiral roll top bath.

Courtyard Superior – Room 14

Spoil yourselves in room 14, this beautifully refurbished room has private access from the courtyard. This larger style bedroom has a Super King-sized bed, with individually designed furnishings, wood style floor, and a larger bathroom.

Courtyard Superior – Room 16

Spoil yourselves in room 16, this beautifully refurbished room has private access from the courtyard. This larger style bedroom has a Super King-sized bed, with individually designed furnishings, wood style floor, and a larger bathroom.

The Stable Master’s Room – Room 12

Our lovely courtyard room 12 has been refurbished to suit its stable heritage. This converted stable has a King-size bed, direct access from the courtyard, exposed natural wood beams, wood style floors, and accessible bathroom.

Classic Double Rooms

Each has been individually designed in a range of country interiors reflecting our 18th Century Inn. Our double rooms are all larger than the petite doubles. There is a choice of staying in the original main house or across the courtyard in the converted stables, where your dog is most welcome too!

Petite Double Rooms

Both of these rooms have double beds. Whilst they are our smallest rooms, they are both homely for a relaxing stay. These are often the preferred choice by visitors for single occupancy. Your dog friend is welcome to join you in this room choice. While Room 4 is in the main house, Room 9 is in the courtyard and up a stone staircase.

All our prices are per room, per night and include Full English breakfast and VAT.

There is a Child supplement charge of £20.00 per night.

Dogs are welcome in our dog friendly rooms at a charge of £10.00 per night. (Except in the Courtyard Superior rooms)
