Monday to Friday 10 till 12, or you can email us via our contact us tab on the website and we will respond as quickly as possible.

Online reservations can be made at any time for new bookings from Wednesday 2nd December 2020, via our website booking system.

Covid-19 Statement

COVID-19 & THE BLUE LION’S COMMITMENT TO OUR CUSTOMERS

The management and staff of the Blue Lion are committed to doing everything we can to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our customers and staff during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is a commitment that we are taking very seriously, and we would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation regarding any changes and measures we have had to implement in order to achieve our goal.

ON ARRIVAL

On arrival at the Blue Lion you will see that we are operating a one-way system.  Entry will be via the main hotel door opposite the reception, where you will see a ‘Please Wait’ sign, along with hand sanitiser which we ask you to use.  A member of staff will attend to you on your arrival, check each member of your party’s temperatures and take you directly to your table or book you into your room.  When you depart the Blue Lion please only exit via the bar doors, located in the front and rear bar areas.

GENERAL

All of our staff have been thoroughly trained to deal with the restrictions and requirements of Covid-19 in order to provide a safe environment for our valued customers.  Hygiene, cleaning and sanitisation will always be our priority, all members of our team are temperature-checked on their arrival at work and if they have a temperature, they will be sent home.  All of our staff will sanitise their hands before and after every interaction and will also regularly wash their hands, this means that everything from a plate to a glass will be served with the very cleanest of hands.  We will also thoroughly clean all tables and chairs between guests and hand sanitisers for your use are located throughout the building.  The toilets will be sanitised every 30 minutes and operate with a maximum of two people in at any one time.

IF YOU ARE DINING WITH US

We have restricted the number of tables available in order to help with social distancing.  We regret that we cannot pre-book or allocate specific tables or areas for your meal and would appreciate your understanding of these measures.  The menu is still true to the Blue Lion’s reputation but to allow for the safety of our kitchen staff we have reduced the selection.  Laminated menus for easy sanitising will be provided at table.  As part of the UK Government’s Track and Trace System we are required to obtain and retain (for 21 days) all customers contact details.  On the menu is an easy to use QR Code, that requires scanning, for you to then complete the on-screen prompts.

Because of the stringent measures we are taking regarding hygiene and cleanliness we have decided that our staff will not be required to wear facemasks although this policy will be constantly reviewed.

IF YOU ARE STAYING WITH US

Our housekeeping staff will clean and sanitise each room thoroughly between guests.  In accordance with guidelines, unfortunately, housekeeping will not be able to enter rooms to make and turn down beds.  If you are staying for more than one night please let us know if you would like clean towels, or toiletries replenished, we can leave them outside your room.  Tea and coffee making trays have also been removed in accordance with guidelines, though we can provide one upon request.  Traditionally, the Blue Lion offers a breakfast buffet and regretfully this is for the time being not possible.  You will be able to enjoy breakfast from a choice on our set menu.
